Terms and Conditions

Please read the specific Terms and Conditions for each class, event, workshop or retreat before booking as there are individual terms are conditions. Below are the general Ts & Cs but may vary from activity to activity. These are specified when you are booking.

A little note on the Terms & Conditions:

I am human, so please get in touch if you have extenuating circumstances and I’ll see what I can do to help you.

Equally, if you have booked through my online system you will have agreed to these conditions so please respect them. I am aware that they are strict, but as a tiny business, I need to exercise a certain level of personal protection. Thank you for understanding.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS (Updated 6th Jan 2025)

All programmes of physical exercise involve a risk of injury. By choosing to participate in yoga classes, you voluntarily assume a certain risk of injury.

By attending this class, I, the client, affirm my understanding that yoga is not a substitute for medical attention, examination, diagnosis, or treatment. I affirm that I am solely responsible for my health and well-being, as well as my decision to practise yoga and attend Roots Yoga - a program of physical exercise. I agree to inform my instructor of any activities or movements that I feel could cause injury to myself. I understand that under certain medical conditions yoga is not recommended and is not safe and understand it is recommended to consult a physician prior to beginning any activity physical program, including yoga. I agree to make my instructor aware of any physical or mental conditions I am experiencing and understand I am solely responsible for my own safety during this programme of physical exercise. I agree to stay within my limits and listen to my body during all sessions. Amy Lutton and Roots Yoga shall not be held liable for any injury, loss or damage to property and/or persons sustained during or as a result of participation in this class.

If I go in the sea, I do so of my own choice and Amy Lutton (Roots Yoga) will not be liable.

CANCELLATIONS & RESCHEDULING

ALL CLASSES, EVENTS AND WORKSHOPS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

CLASSES

Cancellations made more than 24 hours of the class will be entitled to reschedule to a different date or receive a voucher.

Cancellations within 24 hours will not receive a credit note or be able to reschedule - regardless of reason (including sickness).

WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS

Cancellations made more than one week of the session will be entitled to reschedule to a different date (if available) or receive a voucher.

Cancellations within one week of the event will not receive a credit note or be able to reschedule - regardless of reason (including sickness).

Bookings can only be rescheduled once.

DAY RETREATS

If you need to cancel any retreat with Roots Yoga, cancellation fees will apply. Any notice of cancellation must be provided in writing via email, not Instagram or WhatsApp.

There is no cooling-off period when purchasing or booking any day retreats.

The deposit is non-refundable.

The full amount us due at least 30 days before the date of the day retreat.

If you cancel between 14 and 28 days before the day retreat you will be refunded the full amount, minus the deposit.

If you cancel les than 14 days before the day retreat you will not be entitled to a refund.

You can reschedule to another day retreat (incurring any extra costs) up to 28 days before the event. Bookings can only be rescheduled once.

RETREATS

Cancellations Policy: Guest Cancellations

If you need to cancel any retreat with Roots Yoga, cancellation fees will apply. Any notice of cancellation must be provided in writing, via email, not Instagram or WhatsApp.

Please refer to the following for a breakdown of applicable cancellation fees:

There is no cooling-off period when purchasing or booking any Roots Yoga Retreats.

If you cancel 90 days or more before your Start Date, you will be refunded the full amount paid up to that date for your retreat. This excludes the deposit per person which is non-refundable

If you cancel between 60 – 90 days before your Start Date, you will be refunded 50% of any sums paid. This excludes the deposit per person which is non-refundable

Cancellations less than 60 days before the Start Date of your Retreat are non-refundable and will result in a forfeit of any and all sums paid.

Due to our need to commit to accommodation and other arrangements in advance, exceptions to our policy cannot be made for any reason.

Travel Insurance

We require that your travel insurance covers the activity of your retreat with us as well as unexpected cancellation, sickness, losses and all the usual risks

It is your responsibility to organise suitable travel and health insurance. You acknowledge that Our Retreat is not in the business of providing insurance products and cannot be held liable if your failure to arrange suitable insurance coverage leaves you exposed, medically, financially or otherwise.

You understand and acknowledge that it is a condition of booking that you must take out an adequate travel insurance policy that covers all items listed in the sample itinerary for your chosen Retreat, as well as but not limited to, trip cancellation insurance, and any other activities that which may reasonably be undertaken during the course of your Retreat. The policy and insurance coverage must be valid and in effect for the entire duration of your Retreat.

Please note, even if you have private health insurance in your Country of Residence, it is unlikely that this insurance will cover overseas trips to the extent required to participate in the activities organised on a trip with Our Retreat

You will be asked to email or bring your policy with you to the retreat in case of an emergency.
